Universal health care

If you would consider taking a rideshare instead of an ambulance, your healthcare system is broken.

Universal Health Care has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be the best practice for delivering robust health care to the most people for the lowest cost. Virtually every metric, from cost, to health outcomes, to patient satisfaction, universal health care systems outperform private ones for all but the richest people.

In a poor society it may not be practical to deliver universal health care when the basic infrastructure is not yet there. But once a certain level of wealth is obtained, health care shifts from a luxury to a necessity. And the injustice of having people go without basic care when a society has more than enough wealth to provide it becomes scandalous, especially if it ends up spending even more money per capita than countries that do cover everyone.
