References to the big bang refer not necessarily to the original big bang theory but rather our latest, best understanding of the origins of the universe.

As our understanding of the early moments of the universe evolves, the specifics of whether all matter was concentrated in a single point that exploded into an expanding universe, or if arose spontaneously across an infinite empty space, or any other theory that agrees with the observable data, makes no difference in how metaculture is understood. The only important point is that a scientific creation story exists and conforms to the laws of physics.
